Chimera Strain (2018) Reviews
thriller plot, realistic stuff, outstanding cinematography
Plot has layers, it is a thoughtful movie that raises questions on life, family and how far you would go to save them, science is real and possibly near future stuff, cinematography and framing of the scenes is outstanding, loved watching the movie
Recommended, especially for sci-fi geeks.
My only issue with this indie feature was that its dialogues were a bit too scientific and the jargon went over my head. However, the film is very good especially the set pieces and pacing. Mr Haemms who wears the triumvirate hat of writer/producer/director is a man to watch out for in the future. Recommended, especially for sci-fi geeks.
Same family as Gattaca and The Fly
If you like hard sci-fi with new concepts and the guts to follow the story to some really hard places, then this is the movie for you. Don't expect a cheery uplifting story but if you want to be challenged and provoked - watch this movie, i have deduced a point because their lack of budget shows in places
General audiences are not capable of understanding this film
If you do not want to think when you watch a film, then Captain Marvel is for you. If you are interested in more than the same old stuff, watch this.
Loved it
Chimera is exactly the kind of Science Fiction that I love - dark, gritty and hard hitting. The acting is just great, Cusick as the tortured scientist and Quinlan as his tormentor are pitch perfect, the story is full of surprises and the score is haunting and enigmatic. I loved it and highly recommend. Some of the practical effects could have been better and so I have rated it 9/10
